Spelling:
L. 18 words are spelled by changing final y to an i. The pretest will be Monday. The test and homework will be due on Thursday.

Reading:

We will work on a poetry unit! There will be a vocab quiz on the 6 vocab words on Monday, 4/9.

English:

We will begin a friendly letter unit.

Science

There will be a test on Space on Thursday.The study guide is in the science folder.

Social Studies:
We will continue with our study of Chicago and building skyscrapers! ;)

Math

We will take a mad minute in division 12s. We will have the geometry test on Wednesday, 4/4.

Classroom Chatter

Book orders went home this week.They are due online by Sunday 3/18. If you don't order online, send in orders on Monday. I'll enter orders Monday after school.

GLUE STICKS! We are VERY low on glue sticks and have several projects we will be working on now until the end of the year. If you child can bring in one or some, that would be great! Thank you. Also, now is a good time to ask your child how their "supplies" are. It is common to be low on dry erase markers and pencils. :) Thanks!

Spelling

L.17 words are prefix and suffix. There will be a pretest Monday and test and homework due Friday.

Reading

We will spend the week reading stories and practicing all of our strategies.

English

The adjective/adverb test will now be on Friday instead of Wednesday.

Social Studies

We are working on some projects in class on the Chicago fire.

Science

We will do some more space activities this week with constellations. Please send in any empty Pringles cans in. We will use them to make star gazers.

Math

We will take a mad minute in division 11s. We will not test on chatper 10 until after break. There will be a CYP on lessons 5-8 on Thursday. The test will be on 4/4.

Classroom Chatter

Thank you to everyone who sent in healthy treats for the class to have before the tests! We really appreciated it!!!

For those of you that met with me at conferences, it was a pleasure meeting with you to discuss your child's progress. Everyone please remember to always feel free to contact me with any questions, concerns or great news!!!

Spelling: No spelling due to ISAT testing.

Reading: We will finish up our African American photo books that we put on hold. We will share them with the class too.

English

We will finish up adjectives and adverbs. There will be a test the following week (probably Wednesday 3/21) before we break for spring break.

Social Studies

We will continue with Chicago with the fire, rebuilding Chicago and the World's Fair. We will have our test on Part II of Chicago on Friday. The study guide came home today in social studies folder.

Science

We will finish up Space and test on it AFTER spring break. I don't want to have a lot of tests that last week before break. We will do plenty of reviewing when we return from break. :)

Math

We will take a mad minute in division 10s. We will finish up geometry in the next 2 weeks with a CYP on Monday 3/19 and the test Friday 3/23. Some of you asked about Geometry projects and when will they be assigned. Third grade team decided to not complete this "at home" project this year.

Classroom Chatter

Thank you to Mariam, Maya, Stephan, and Lucas for bringing in some cool items for our treasure chest. Mrs. Csorba really appreciates it!!!

Parents! A note came home today (Friday) regarding ISAT healthy treats for the class. We are looking to give each student an extra healthy treat before we take each test. We have 6 tests over the course of the next 2 weeks. If you can send anything in for the class, it is greatly appreciated! Email me if any questions!

Don't forget no school Monday and Friday!!!

Spelling

No spelling this week. We will use the extra time for reading.

Reading

We will be taking Reading tests 1 and 2 this week. Test 2 will have an extended response the students will have to respond to. We will spend Tuesday preparing for our tests.

English

We will learn about adverbs this week.

Social Studies

We will learn about the great Chicago fire!

Science

We will study the solar system this week!

Math

We will take a mad minute in division 9 this week. We also will be taking the ISAT test in math. In addition to the ISAT tests, we will study quadrilaterals and polygons. Also, I wanted to "mention" that when we are done with our geometry unit, at some point we will have a "trimester" test covering chapter 4, 6, 7, and 10. It won't be for another couple of weeks, especially since we just started chapter 10 and ISAT's now. Just wanted to let you know. :)
