We had a lot of fun last week conducting our science experiment on "bubble colors" in science. Take a look a these scientists:

The test for the introductory unit, "Getting Ready for Science" will be on Tuesday. A study guide went home last week. We are finished with science until "next year!"

Social Studies
We will be spending the next two weeks finishing up chapter 3 in social studies. We will not finish until the day before we break for the holidays. I have decided that we will NOT take a chapter 3 test. I will just have the grades from the 4 in-class lesson reviews for the chapter 3 grades.

Please visit the blog of your child's Reading teacher to find out information for Reading, Language Arts, and Spelling in that classroom.

Spelling
This week's words will be a holiday list of words. Below is the spelling list. We will have a pretest on Monday. If your child receives a 100% on Monday's pretest, they don't have to take the test on Friday. We will have a homework packet of activities to complete this week. The test is Friday.

English
We will finish up verbs. The test is now scheduled for Tuesday, 12/16.

Reading
This week we will begin a new reading strategy, connections. When we read, we will be making 3 types of connections: text to text, text to self, and text to the world connections. We will be reading the Mysterious Giant of Barletta. We will have a short quiz on vocab from this story on Friday.

Please visit the blog of your child's Math teacher to find out information for that Math class.
Math
We will begin chapter 4. Chapter 4 teaches us about data and probability. This week we will learn about bar graphs, pictographs, line graphs, and ordered pairs. We will be taking a mad minute this week on x9's.
