Classroom Chatter
Don't forget Monday is Johnny Appleseed's birthday. A note went home last week about how we will celebrate Johnny's pioneer life! Please send in an apple that is peeled, cut, and cored! We will use it to make homemade applesauce! Thanks to Kyle, Gia, and Noah for sending in the supplies we need! ;)

Don't forget to bring your picture day money and your best smile :) on Thursday for Picture Day!

Spelling
L. 5's words are spelled with short and long vowels. There will be a pretest Monday. The test and homework will be due on Friday.

Reading
We will continue to highlight summarizing and sequencing using materials differentiated for our classroom's various reading levels, and will be extending our knowledge through written responses. We will also assess on their ability to sequence events from text.

English
We will finish up Unit One: What is a Sentence with a test on Thursday 9/29. A study guide is in the English folder. I will send home your child's English textbook to help with studying.

Science
We will continue with chapter 4. This week we will look at lesson 3 and how living things survive in an ecosystem.

Social Studies
We will spend the week learning about the hemispheres of our world.

Mrs. Csorba's Math Class
We will take a CYP on Monday on lessons 6-10. We will play a review game on Tuesday. Wednesday we will take a test on chapter 1. A study guide is in the math folder and went home last week. Use it as a guide to find practice problems to study for. We will start multiplication mad minutes next week (week of October 3). A letter about this will come home on Monday.
Our next unit of study will be Chapter 2, Addition and Subtraction Concepts.
