Week of February 2-6

Classroom Chatter
On Thursday Prairieview will be having a music/multicultural assembly with guest musician Mer. Mer is a friend of Mrs. Csorba and a local music artist. We look forward to his presentation and performance!

Science
We will begin chapter 5 this week. Chapter 5 teaches us about how living things interact with each other, food webs, and food chains.


Social Studies
We will be taking the Ch. 9 test on Tuesday. Our next unit of study will be Ancient Egypt!

Spelling
L. 15 words end with -ing. The pretest will be on Monday. This week's homework pages will be workbook pages 80-83. They are due on Thursday. The ABC order sheet will go home on Thursday. The test is Friday.

English
This week we will learn about adverbs. We also will be doing more expository writing. Last week we learned about expository writing (informs, describes, explains) and how to write good hooks (attention getters) for our introduction paragraph.



Reading
We will finish up Stone Fox this week with a vocabulary quiz. Inference will be our next and final reading strategy to learn. We will be reading the story Mulan. We will not be having a vocabulary quiz this week.

Math
We will continue with geometry. This week we will learn about perimeter, area, and space figures. Students will be doing some problem solving with written explanation. We will begin division mad minutes beginning with 2's.
